Working with DCNR we developed a comprehensive plan for the new Visitor Center which included all interpretive messages for three key areas that included the main exhibit area, a hands-on Discovery Room and traditional waysides on the exterior of the Center. LEED’s messaging was incorporated throughout the interior and exterior and was supported with visitor activities. A complete wayfinding system was also developed for vehicular and pedestrian traffic that reflects the building’s architectural style and the natural setting of the area.
